Canadian_Tire_logoThe most recent contributors to sharing the message of mentoring to their customers, these great organizations are taking community support to heart!  Haven’t you heard?  100 Men 100 Days is the hottest campaign this spring, informing men of the need for their wisdom and experience to help bring up the next generation.

BETTER TO LOOK COOL THAN NERDY, BETTER TO APPEAR SLOTHFUL, ARROGANT AND DISINTERESTED IN SCHOOL, THAN TO LOOK LIKE A FAILURE, A NERD, A LOSER, OR WORSE – A SUCK UP.

This statement was made by teacher who had both the perspective of growing up without a mentor and someone trying to engage with his students.  If the only thing we accomplish as a mentoring organization, is to help boys be confident and take pride in being who they are, then we’ve done great things together.

How do we do that?  Consistent, positive role modeling and reinforcement.  Being a friend and trusted support person for a child is one of the best things you’ll ever do.
