Successful volunteer mentoring relationships start with consistency, communication, safety and support. Our team will work with you to help determine which volunteer role is right for your personality, interests, schedule, and lifestyle. We’ll support you throughout the entire process.
Please note that it can take up to 8 weeks to move through our application process. Below are the various steps we’ll guide you through as you become a volunteer.
Step 1: Online Application
Your application will be received by our team and we will respond to you by phone and/or email within 2 business days.
Step 2: Online Training
We encourage you to complete our online training module by clicking the link to the right and reviewing and following the instructions. This is a required element of becoming a volunteer so now is a great time to complete. Please complete our online training module here.
Step 3: Security Clearance Check & Intervention Record Check
When we contact you, we will assist in the completion of a Security Clearance Check through your municipal police service or the RCMP as well as an Intervention Record Check through Alberta Children’s Services.
Step 4: References
You will be asked to get your references to contact us by phone or fill out the online form.
Step 5: Personal Interview & In-Person Training
We will also arrange for you to meet with one of our staff for a personal interview, and schedule your participation in our training workshop.
